#FirstWorldCrafts

I saw this the other day
At First I thought it was cool but then I started to think about the fact that that is money. It's kind of a waste of money. And then I started to think about how people will talk about opening internet explorer and having to wait ten minutes for it to load so they can close it again, and they'll end their comment with #firstworldproblems. What if we had a a project called #firstworldcrafts (covering things in fake or real money) to inadvertently do some altruistic work? Could be exhibition, random things around campus, town. a chair.

Money is strange. The metal in a penny is worth over 2.2 cents, so it would have cost over twice as much to buy enough copper sheet metal to cover the table. Also, the table will sell for much more than the value of the materials, meaning that the artist has actually increased the value of those pennies. I wouldn't say it is a 'waste of money' in any respect. It is an awesome table, and it would be fun to bling out a bunch of stuff like that!
YEAH!!! that's an interesting concept.
